Torpedo Trouble
Cheating? Unfair? Ruining the game?
There is a long history of cheating in sports. Just as long as sport itself. Similarly, there is a long history of cheating in baseball, just as long as long as baseball itself. The Yankees have a long history of “cheating”, though that seems to be more connected to the Yankees being almost universally hated, rather than any particularly egregious examples. The “torpedo” bats are yet another example of this. The oddly-shaped bats are perfectly within the rules of the game, and yet “cheaters” claims abound. The question is: legal or not, are these bats good or bad for baseball?
